The type of filler used can depend upon which area is being treated or on doctor/patient preference. The range of dermal fillers used at the clinic includes Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, Ellanse, and Teoxane.

An extremely fine, short needle injects the filler into the appropriate area for dermal filler treatments. The procedure takes about 10-15 minutes. The dermal fillers used contain an anaesthetic (Lidocaine). Depending on the area treated, a topical anaesthetic cream or a nerve block may be used prior to the treatment.

The treatment may cause slight but brief discomfort, redness or swelling, which usually resolves in an hour or two. We recommend the following dermal filler aftercare instructions:

  • Avoid Makeup: Wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup.
  • No Strenuous Exercise: Avoid intense physical activity for 24-48 hours.
  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to aid the healing process.
  • Avoid Alcohol & Saunas: Steer clear of alcohol, hot baths, and saunas for 24-48 hours.

The effects are visible almost immediately, and depending on the treatment area, they will typically last between 6 and 12 months. Some longer-lasting fillers may last up to 12 to 18 months.
